Which European Act can I use for my videoconference request in other European Member States? To which kind of parties and under which conditions is it applicable? How do I request a cross-border videoconference?
We heard such questions many times during our study visits and interviews. Even if there is a legal basis for a particular videoconferencing request the details for such a request are often unknown. Sometimes, it is even unknown that there already is a legal basis for a cross-border videoconference.
One of the tasks of the SimpliVi project was to learn about legal frameworks for videoconferencing, nationally and internationally. The knowledge gained about the European legal basis now resulted in a supplementary project outcome. The document linked below provides short answers to the questions mentioned above and guides legal practitioners into the right direction for setting up a judicial cross-border videoconference.
The document is intended to be quickly available on the desk of each practitioner dealing with the organisation of a judicial videoconference - electronically or on paper.
